What constitutes an "individual" and distinguishes that individual from any other person on the planet is an idea that has tickled my curiosity since the start of my student career as an undergraduate psychology major. As a clinical mental health counseling graduate intern in a psychiatric inpatient facility that provides treatment for people who are personality disordered, I have become only more interested in the “enduring pattern of inner experiences and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the individual’s culture” (Woo & Keatinge, 2008); a personality disorder. The purpose of this site is to clinically explore tools, techniques and important aspects of providing counseling services to clients diagnosed with personality disorders.
This website covers a variety of areas related to personality disorders and counseling including information on personality disorders, community resources and weekly blog posts covering a variety of personality disorder related topics. The content of this site is geared toward fellow counselors and counselors in training and topics are discussed from a clinician''s point of view. Additionally, throughout the site, information on technological tools that can be used in counseling are presented and discussed.
